Prevention Counseling

is a short-term , problem solving focused program, which includes initial assessment, intervention and referral for additional or alternative services (if needed) with the goal of helping children, teens and young adults to learn how to deal with adversities and challenges they are facing and develop healthy coping skills. This program, which is geared towards youth ages 5 to 21. Counseling includes weekly individual sessions with additional sessions with parents. Sessions are conducted both in person and virtually.
How does it work? Our counselors help kids and adolescents to develop new and improve interpersonal, communication skills, teach them how to better manage their emotions and stress. At the same time, parents learn how better support their children in growing stronger and happier individuals.

What they do in the session? Counselors use play therapy, arts and crafts to help children and adolescents to open up about their feelings. Youth and counselors talk about what is important and work together on developing new skills.
